Percentage of notebooks in Box L
= 100% - 40% - 25%

Percentage of notebooks in Box M
= 100% - 55% - 15%
= 30%

Fraction of stationery in Box M that is notebooks

35% of stationery in Box L = 210
1% of stationery in Box L = 210 ÷ 35 = 6 
100% of the stationery in Box L = 100 x 6 = 600

Number of stationery in Box M
= 600 ÷ 2
= 300

100% of stationery in Box M = 300
1% of stationery in Box L = 300 ÷ 100 = 3
30% of stationery in Box L = 30 x 3 = 90  

Number of notebooks in Box M = 90
