1. Find the percentage of pencils in Box Y.

3. The number of pencils in Box Y is 210. Find the number of pencils in Box Z.

Percentage of pencils in Box Y
= 100% - 40% - 25%

Percentage of pencils in Box Z
= 100% - 60% - 30%

Fraction of stationery in Box Z that is pencils
= ¹₁₀

35% of stationery in Box Y = 210
1% of stationery in Box Y = 210 ÷ 35 = 6 
100% of the stationery in Box Y = 100 x 6 = 600

Number of stationery in Box Z
= 600 ÷ 2
= 300

100% of stationery in Box Z = 300
1% of stationery in Box Y = 300 ÷ 100 = 3
10% of stationery in Box Y = 10 x 3 = 30  

Number of pencils in Box Z = 30
