1. How many child tickets were sold in total on Tuesday and Thursday?
2. The ratio of the number of adult tickets sold on Monday to the total number of tickets sold on that day was 2 : 3. How many adult tickets were sold on Thursday?

Number of child tickets sold on Tuesday = 70
Number of child tickets sold on Wednesday = 60
Number of child tickets sold on Thursday = 20

Total number of child tickets sold on Tuesday and Thursday
= 70 + 20
= 90

(b)
Total number of tickets sold on Monday = 3 u
Number of adult tickets sold on Monday = 2 u

Number of child tickets sold on Monday
= 3 u - 2 u
= 1 u

1 u = 30

Number of adult tickets sold on Monday
= 2 u
= 2 x 30
= 60

3 p = 60

1 p = 60 ÷ 3 = 20

Number of adult tickets sold on Thursday
= 2 p
= 2 x 20
= 40
