1. How many adult tickets were sold in total on Monday and Wednesday?
2. The ratio of the number of child tickets sold on Wednesday to the total number of tickets sold on that day was 4 : 5. How many child tickets were sold on Tuesday?

Number of adult tickets sold on Tuesday = 10
Number of adult tickets sold on Wednesday = 50
Number of adult tickets sold on Thursday = 80

Total number of adult tickets sold on Monday and Wednesday
= 100 + 50
= 150

(b)
Total number of tickets sold on Wednesday = 5 u
Number of child tickets sold on Wednesday = 4 u

Number of adult tickets sold on Wednesday
= 5 u - 4 u
= 1 u

1 u = 50

Number of child tickets sold on Wednesday
= 4 u
= 4 x 50
= 200

2 p = 200

1 p = 200 ÷ 2 = 100

Number of child tickets sold on Tuesday
= 4 p
= 4 x 100
= 400
